Sacred Frankincense Essential Oil Review

This review is about Sacred Frankincense Essential Oil and is one of the most amazing oils I have ever used.

Sacred Frankincense is one of those oils that I keep in my purse, it travels with me and if I am unsure what essential oil I should use, I use frankincense.

The very accredited site, NCBI (NIH – National Institute of Health), does crazy amounts of research on what feels like everything.  Their info on frankincense is thorough and so helpful.  I’ll post some of their info below and or you can go directly to it here.

I just got this pre-diluted roller of Sacred Frankincense from RMO.  Very convenient, as it comes ready to use!  Simply roll it on the bottom of your feet for immune boosting benefits.  You can put it on wounds, wrinkles and scars!  It’s less expensive than buying it undiluted and then having to make your own roller.  RMO (Rocky Mountain Oils) carries the highest quality of oils.  They have done extensive testing and provide you GC/MS test results from a verified third party, independent lab for each one of their products.  Click here to check it out.

Frankincense Benefits

Frankincense is very valuable and has been used by all types of people and has been around for thousands of years. It is worth it’s weight in gold and it’s history if fascinating.  The trade industries were greatly impacted by the value and need for frankincense.

There are 3 different varieties of Frankincense:

Sacred:  Impacts inflammation and is great for skin care (think scaring, blemishes, wrinkles).

Serrata:  Great option for cleaning because of it’s anti-microbial properties. It also is good for uplifting the mood.

Carterii:  Good for general joint and muscle pain.

Where To Buy Frankincense

If you want top-shelf quality, free shipping and fast response, I would recommend buying your frankincense from Rocky Mountain Oils.  Here is a direct link to their site explaining all the benefits and many different uses.  They also have a wonderful and easy return policy if for any reason an essential oil doesn’t work out for you.

What Do The Experts Say About Frankincense?

This is directly from the ncbi.nlm.nih.gov website and is written by doctors, for doctors and not always easy to read.  Anything in parenthesis is my addition

  • has been used for centuries in cultural ceremonies, as a cosmetic agent, and as a traditional medicine to treat a variety of ailments, especially inflammatory diseases including asthma, arthritis, cerebral edema, chronic pain syndrome, chronic bowel diseases, cancer, and some other illnessesInflammation:
  • AKBA (3-O-acetyl-11-keto-β-boswellic acid) is the most important and effective acid (in frankincense)
  • And AKBA is the most important inhibitor of an enzyme called 5-lipoxygenase,
  • 5-lipoxygenase is responsible for inflammation.
  • AKBA has shown to be effective against a large number of inflammatory diseases such as arthritis, bronchial asthma, chronic colitis, ulcerative colitis (UC), Crohn’s disease (CD), and cancer.
  • Many inflammatory diseases can be caused by leukotrienes, including asthma, colitis, rheumatism, arthritis, and psoriasis.[Boswellia has shown to be a specific inhibitor of leukotrienes. It acts by blocking the synthesis of leukotrienes and, therefore, inhibiting inflammation and shrinking the inflamed tissue which is the primary cause of pain and discomfort in many cases

    Respiratory

  • It has been valued for its effect on the respiratory system, and has been used in steam inhalations, baths, and massages to treat cough, catarrh, bronchitis, and asthma.[]
  • AKBA is reported to be an effective topical agent to soften facial lines and relax the skin.[]
  • report showed that AKBA can prevent as well as reduce the biofilm generation by Staphylococcus aureus and Staphylococcus epidermidis.[]
  • AKBA can be used in the development of an antibacterial agent against oral pathogens and can be used in mouthwash for preventing and treating oral infections.[]
  • has been used as a remedy for thousands of years, has not shown any severe side effect and is considered to be safe.[]
  • The anti-inflammatory effects of Boswellia, (frankincense) unlike many anti-inflammatory chemical drugs, do not cause any adverse effects on blood pressure, heart rate, respiration, or other autonomic responses, and the resin has remarkably low toxicity.[] The gum resin of Boswellia is included in the list of safe substances and its use is permitted by US Food and Drug Administration (USFDA) as a food additive.[]
